privacy

Privacy includes how your personal information is gathered, stored, used and shared.

In NZ the rules around Privacy that all individuals and businesses are bound by are the 13 principles of the Privacy Act. Visit Office of The Privacy Commissioner to find out more about Privacy in NZ or for help about a Privacy issue.

Start by checking the privacy and security settings on your devices and apps. Think about the information you share publicly (including information about your family and children).

You can check if your email addresses have been involved in a data breach at Have I Been P*wned

If you find a breach change your passwords for that site and any others using the same passwords (all passwords for every online account should be strong and unique). Use a Password Manager and start using Multifactor Authentication (also called MFA or 2FA).
