Backups

If the worst happens through a hack or data breach ensuring you still have access to what is valuable to you online will be one of the most important aspects of recovering your digital life. If the worst happens you’ll be relying on backups. Make sure you can access and retrieve the data you have backed up.

If you back up into the cloud (eg Apple iCloud) make sure you don’t leave the front door open with a weak password. Read about how to create a strong password and using Multifactor Authentication (MFA).

You can also create offline backups (storing information on external hard drives). Make sure you do this regularly and store these backup drives somewhere safe.
